Do Full Service Schools Help High Risk Students?
I think this blog answers this question with a resounding yes. Full Service schools help all students not just high risk students. By providing social and health services for students, you are improving their educational outcome and the community they live in. Full Service classrooms also offer students early learning programs and remedial education. Early learning programs are a wonderful way to get students the help they need at the earliest time possible. By offering testing and placing them in programs that address their needs at an early age, they will have a better chance once of keeping up in the classroom. Another aspect I like about Full Service Classrooms is they also offer After-school programs and youth development programs. All the programs Full Service classrooms offer are essential to creating the best environment and opportunities for High-Risk-students
I think this type of classroom will benefit students who are having difficulties. Not only do they work with the students but families are also involved. It encourages parents to be involved in their child's education. Many high risk students need more than academics. By Full Service schools students are being giving access to counseling, health and dental care, and nutritional services. I think it is important to work with and help the whole student not just the academics. I think that it is crucial to a students learning, to have open communication between home and school. Full Service classrooms promote a safe climate, they support an respect their students and they make for a stronger community.

Is teaching more than just a job?
I think that teaching is much more than just a job. I agree that it is a calling "it's an ever-surprising mix of grueling hard work and ecstatic success." (Top Seven Reasons to Become a Teacher) Teaching allows you the opportunity to help change the world. Where else can you guide people to become creative well adjusted individuals. Yes, teaching is exhausting and sometimes over whelming but the reward of seeing your students grow into caring and intelligent individuals far out weighs the work involved. Teachers play such an influential role in their students life. Often teachers are the first person students confide in. Weather it be about school or other issues in their lives. For this reason alone I believe that to be a teacher you have to be a a motivated, passionate and willing to always put your best effort into teaching your students. So, yes I consider teaching to be much more than just a job.

Introduction: Getting to know me.
Hi! My name is Molly Connaughton. I am from Beverly, MA and have lived here my entire life. I originally started my college journey at North Shore Community College, where I stayed for two years. Upon my completion of classes at North Shore I transferred to Salem State University. I am now a senior and will graduate with a bachelors degree in Psychology and a minor in Education. I am taking this class because I want to spend sometime in an elementary classroom. I think that spending time working with elementary age children will help me in my future endeavor of working with high school students as a guidance councilor, which is what I would like to be after I graduate. I would like to do this because when I was a senior in high school I did not get much advise/guidance on what to look for in my college application process. I think that by working with young children it will help to give me a better insight into their lives for future reference and understanding when I work with them as young adults planning for their future. What makes me anxious is the thought that I will play such a large role in their young lives and I want to give them the best opportunities available. The main experience I have comes from working at the preschool Next Generations and from baby-sitting my young nieces and nephews. As for my future plans I would love to stay in this area and help guide High School students in picking the right path for them to follow.

With the help of todays technology homeschooling has become more widespread. The internet can be used as a library and a way to communicate with other learning facilities. It helps to bring the classroom into the home. I think the article is useful in the fact that it shows with technology you do not have to be in a classroom setting to learn.
